Harry Cator - Executive Chairman
Harry joined DMP Asset Management Ltd’s (DMPAM) predecessor company as Chief Executive Officer in 2001, a role he has continued with DMPAM since 2010. Harry spent 11 years with Mercury Asset Management managing client assets in London, Tokyo and Melbourne. During 6 years in Mercury's Melbourne office his roles included Manager, International Equities, Head of Australian Equities and acting Managing Director. In 1998 Harry moved to AXA as Chief Investment Officer of Australian operations prior to accepting the role of Chief Executive Officer of DMPAM's predecessor company in 2001. Harry was appointed Executive Chairman in November 2014 and Director of SG Hiscock & Company Limited in April 2019.
Laurence G Cox AO - Non Executive Director
Laurie has extensive experience in Australian and international financial markets for over 50 years. He was Executive Chairman of the Potter Warburg Group of Companies in Australia from 1989 to 1995 and was a Director of SG Warburg Securities of London and an Executive Director of Macquarie Group Limited from 1996 to 2010. He was a Director of the Australian Stock Exchange from its inception in 1987 and Chairman from 1989 to 1994 and was awarded the Order of Australia for services to the ASX and the securities industry. He has been Chairman of Transurban Group, SMS Management & Technology and Murdoch Childrens Research Institute and Australian Prostate Cancer Research and a Non-Executive Director of OneSteel Limited. Laurie is a graduate of Melbourne University with a Bachelor of Commerce, a Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants, a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Chris Harris - Non Executive Director
Chris was appointed Director of DMPAM's predecessor company in 1999 and of DMPAM in 2010. Chris has had 40 years experience in accounting, finance and administration and business management. He is a former Managing Director and CEO of FH Faulding & Co Limited, Australia’s largest pharmaceutical company before its takeover by Mayne Group Limited in 2001. Prior to his 18 year career with Faulding, he spent 6 years with Touche Ross & Co Chartered Accountants. Since 1994, Chris has served on the Boards of a number of public and private companies. He is a former Chairman of Argo Investments Ltd and Adelaide Brighton Ltd and a former Deputy Chairman of Adelaide Bank Ltd and Simeon Wines Ltd. A graduate of the University of Adelaide (Bachelor of Economics) and a former Chairman of Adelaide University Graduate School of Management, Chris was appointed an Adjunct Professor, Torrens University Australia in 2013 and Chairman and Director of Infusion Innovations Pty Ltd in October 2016.
Stephen Hiscock - Non Executive Director
Stephen was appointed Director of DMPAM in April 2019. He has had a long, illustrious career in investment management spanning 28 years. Before establishing SG Hiscock & Company back in 2001 and assuming his current role as Chairman and Managing Director, Stephen held the positions of General Manager, Chief Investment Officer and Chairman of Asset Allocation Committee at National Asset Management Limited (NAM). Prior to this, Stephen was Head of Australian Equities and Head of Direct Property at NAM and spent over 10 years at HSBC in Equities and Listed Property Trusts.
Brenda Shanahan - Non Executive Director
Brenda was appointed Director of DMPAM's predecessor company in 1999 and of DMPAM in 2010. Brenda's career has involved executive and board positions in stockbroking, funds management and investment consulting. Brenda is a former member of the Australian Stock Exchange, partner of May Mellor Laing & Cruikshank and principal of Investment Consulting and worldwide partner at WM Mercer. Brenda is currently the Chair of Aitkenhead Centre for Medical Discovery and a director of SVI Foundation, Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Kimberley Foundation of Australia Ltd, Phoslock Environmental Technology Ltd and SG Hiscock & Company Limited. She is also a Board Member of the Swinburne Industry Advisory Board. Brenda was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Swinburne University of Technology in August 2017.
Yasmin Basrur - Administration Manager
Yasmin joined DMPAM's predecessor company as Administration Manager in 2002, a role she has continued with DMPAM since 2010. She has 25 years in the funds management industry with Administration and Marketing co-ordination roles at Mercury Asset Management, AXA and Alliance Capital Management.
Stratton Bell - Portfolio Manager
Stratton has over 14 years experience in financial markets. Stratton began his career in corporate institutional banking at ANZ before moving into an equity analysis role at Guild Capital Asset Management and then at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Immediately prior to joining DMPAM, Stratton was at VFMC where he held the role of Senior Equity Analyst focusing on large cap analysis. Stratton holds a Bachelor of Business and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) holder.
Richard Codron - Consulting Actuary
Richard is a Consulting Actuary providing services to clients of DMP Asset Management in relation to investment policy formulation and asset liability matching. In the 30 years to December 2017, Richard held several positions with Mercer, including head of investment consulting for 4 years and over 26 years as a consulting actuary to many of Mercer’s largest clients, including corporates, industry funds, public sector and long service leave boards. He holds a BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Statistics and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia.
David Doolan - Company Secretary & Client Service Executive
David joined DMPAM's predecessor company as a Not for Profit Specialist in 2004, a role he has continued with DMPAM since 2010. In addition, David was appointed Company Secretary of DMPAM in 2010. At an operational level, David has been closely involved with investments for religious, charitable and philanthropic foundations since 1995. From 1995 to 2003, David was Manager - Client Liaison (Charitable Foundations) at Warakirri Asset Management. During this time, David was actively involved in the process which led to qualifying organisations being granted access to franking rebates. David has had a variety of experience with many religious, charitable and philanthropic foundations in the context of investment strategy formulation, implementation and management. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, a Registered Tax Agent and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
Angus Graham OAM - Chief Executive Officer
Angus joined DMP Asset Management in May 2016. Prior to joining DMPAM, Angus held several positions within ANZ Global Markets division, including Head of Money Markets for 11 years and Head of Corporate Investor & Wealth Sales. In addition to his responsibilities, Angus also sat on ANZ’s Asset & Liability Committee (Australia), Basel III Steering Committee and the Pricing & Balance Sheet Committee. Angus’ previous leadership experience includes management roles and Commonwealth Bank of Australia, CVC Capital Markets and McIntosh Securities. He also spent time in rural Queensland establishing the Treasury and Risk management function for the Cotton Trading Corporation. Angus is currently the Chairman of Down Syndrome Australia, a Director of the Australian Federation of Disability Organizations, and a Trustee of the Mary-Jane Lewis Scholarship Foundation. In 2014, Angus received an Order of Australia for service to the Community and the Banking & Finance Sector. Angus was appointed Chief Executive Officer in September 2018.
Fiona Hilbert - Client Liaison
Fiona joined DMPAM's predecessor company in 2008 as Client Administration and Liaison Manager with responsibility for the daily administration of client portfolios, a role she has continued with DMPAM since 2010. Fiona has worked in various Investment Banking and Funds Management positions with UBS, BBY and Industry Funds Management for over 25 years.
Rory Hunter - Assistant Portfolio Manager
Rory joined DMP in October 2016. Prior to joining DMP, Rory spent three years at Arjent Investment Management, a London based Investment Manager, assisting in the management of client portfolios.
Rory holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Economics & Finance) from the University of Melbourne.
